The CSW Ultimate Frisbee team, Uruk-Hai, travelled to Northfield Mount Hermon in Gill, MA on Saturday, May 18, to participate in the 2013 NEPSUL (New England Private School Ultimate League) Ultimate Frisbee Tournament.

CSW competed in the B-Division and had four games slated for the sunny spring day. A total of 13 players, including two B-team players, made the trip.

In their first game of the day, CSW faced Miss Porter's School, an all-girls team from Farmington, CT. CSW came out firing and won by a score of 13-5 using smart handler offense and shut down defense. The school then played against a Concord Academy team that they had not faced this season. Playing tough man-to-man defense and taking advantage of CA's turnovers off of risky deep throws, CSW came out on top by a score of 13-8. Handlers Jason Bair ’14 and Jacob Arons ’15 used quick disc movement and smart reset passes to keep CA on their heels.

The final two games of the day were against Marianapolis' B-team and Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, a classic rival of CSW's. CSW defeated Marianapolis by a score of 13-1, which gave them plenty of confidence heading into their final game of the day. The CHCH match was an impressive showing for CSW, as they won by a score of 13-7 and displayed incredible poise and determination despite having lost to CHCH twice earlier in the season.

CSW finished with a 4-0 record on the day and celebrated their first place B-Division finish as they drove back to Weston for a pizza dinner. Coach Arlo Furst '04 reflected on the team's play. "This was an incredible performance from all 13 CSW players. They kept their energy up all day long, which is often tough to do during a hot full day of Ultimate. I was super proud of them and it was certainly a tournament to remember," said Arlo.

Great work Uruk-Hai!
