CSW Hosts Exchange Students From Japan

On Friday, October 27, CSW welcomed students from two schools in Japan as part of the Kakehashi Okinawa Project. The Kakehashi Project is a government-funded grassroots exchange program that aims to build new bridges of friendship and cooperation between Japan and the United States. Their visit began with a fun assembly to introduce themselves to the CSW community. Students later sat in on classes with their host students, attended our annual halloween dance, went on an outing to Harvard Square, and continued the Halloween festivities with a haunted trail. All students stayed with host families from the CSW community for the duration of their stay.

CSW—a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12—is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
