Class Description

The class has been adapted from Life Drawing and retained many of the key elements of Life Drawing, particularly learning how the bones and muscles make effective landmarks for drawing the human figure.
During the class, students refined their understanding of human proportion, learn about drawing the figure in perspective, and explore the expressive power of composition and gesture. There was some live figure drawing (likely with clothed models) either online or in class. Photos, mirrors, and cooperative cohabitants also provided important references for drawing people in their everyday environments. Materials needed will usually be as simple as pencil and paper. This new class immersed students in a deep understanding of the human form and the expressive power of using the human form to express ideas in art.  The work they created is still useful for those thinking of creating an art portfolio.
