Get involved!

Families play a vital role in building and fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive CSW community. Your time, talents, and energy all help support programs and events critical to the life of the school.

There are a variety of ways for parents and guardians to get involved at CSW. From baking cookies to chairing a volunteer committee - we welcome you to participate in any way you can!

Parent Engagement Opportunities

List of 6 items.

  • Admissions Volunteer

Volunteers work with the Admissions and Enrollment Team to engage prospective parents and families. This could include attending admissions and accepted family events, being available as a contact for prospective parents, or displaying lawn signs promoting CSW Open Houses.
  • Birthday for Boarders

Volunteers help to make boarding students’ birthdays special! This wonderful CSW tradition is a highlight for boarders. Volunteers are each assigned a student and deliver small gifts, cards, and/or baked goods on the boarder’s birthday. The committee chair(s) survey(s) boarding students at the start of the school year and organize(s) the volunteer assignments.
  • Faculty and Staff Appreciation

Volunteers help support parent faculty and staff appreciation initiatives throughout the academic year. The committee chair(s) work(s) with the Engagement Office to coordinate meaningful appreciation events and/or programs. Volunteer contributions can range from baking cookies to putting together raffle items to writing notes!
  • Family Engagement Network (FEN)

FEN facilitates CSW parent and family engagement, community-building, and communication, serving as a link between families and the school. They are also responsible for planning grade-level social events. FEN consists of two Co-Chairs, two parent/guardian representatives from each grade level, and a representative from the boarding/international community. FEN representatives meet regularly with each other and with the Associate Director for Parent and Alumni Engagement.
  • Parent Social Justice Book Group

Participants engage with this year’s all-school social justice theme by joining other CSW parents and guardians and gathering for the Social Justice Book Group. The book group meets monthly and is a casual opportunity for parents to discuss the reading and mindfully engage with topics relating to social justice. A great way to connect with peers!
  • Parent Walking Group

The walking group meets regularly – either at Cat Rock Park or elsewhere – and is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to socialize when the weather is good!
