Students take on the White Mountains in the Winter Wilderness Trip
The Winter Wilderness Trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire was a huge success! Both groups hiked along the 19-Mile Brook Trail to the AMC Carter Notch Hut, where they were met with a warm cozy fire and a welcoming hut caretaker. After satiating themselves with a warm coconut-milk lentil stew served over rice, students braved the cold overnight in their bunks. On the second day, students wore their snowshoes and ascended the Carter Dome, where they enjoyed 360º views of the snowy White Mountains.
Once they returned to the hut, they were rewarded with hot pasta, competitive games of Catan and Bananagrams, and guitar singalongs. On the final day, the groups descended 19-mile Brook Trail in the snow to make it back to the vans. All in all, the students have much to be proud of, and we encourage them to participate in more CSW Wilderness Trips! Stay tuned for the Spring Wilderness trip sign up!
