Spanish Students Kick Off Bilingual Intercambio Program with Waltham Library

Students in "Spanish 3B" are kicking off a weekly bilingual Intercambio Program (cultural and language exchange) at the Waltham Library.
This partnership is a result of alum Torin ’23's senior capstone, where he focused on building stronger bridges between our English and Spanish speaking community members by bringing people together through shared language and culture.

Over the last few months, Spanish teacher Ben Ibbetson has continued the partnership with the library and it has grown into weekly exchanges. Students will be working on their Spanish conversation skills with native speakers while also helping native speakers improve their English skills. CSW students will be visiting the library every Friday until March 8.

CSW—a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12—is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
